Upstairs at HFC

Like most of the buildings on the Winterset square, the Heartland Fiber building is rich in history and local lore.
In the years since it was built in the mid 1800s, the upstairs has been used for doctor and land offices, a mercantile, lumber, apartments, storage, and more. And now, with the help of Amy’s son Jack Sawyers and crew, work has been done to restore the space while preserving the original glass and woodwork.  At street level you can step inside The Drift and sample craft beers and have lunch or supper.  They even have outdoor seating under the lights.  Upstairs you'll find us, 'the yarn shop', the national headquarters for Quilts of Valor and private office spaces.

Offices
There are three beautiful offices, both of which receive natural sunlight and make use of restored elements of the original space. The occupants of both offices have access to the commons area, the kitchenette, and the bathrooms, one of which has a shower.
