If you missed Sherry Murtle's Intro to Making Yarn at Fiberpalooza, or if you just want to explore it more in depth, this is your class- Saturday, May 14 and a follow up class Saturday, June 4. These classes cover making yarn and the beginning steps in spinning using a drop spindle. The first 2 hour class will walk the student through the stages of spinning fiber into yarn. Hands on drafting technique, and learning about the different style of spindles available. Students will have an opportunity to sample spins from different spindles. The second 2 hour class will cover plying and the final steps in making your own yarn. Both classes will be 10-Noon. Students may bring their own drop spindles and fiber or use provided spindles and spinning fiber with the option to purchase. Price includes both classes.

This class is for anyone who would like to create out of wool! We will be creating pictures out of our own Iowa raised sheep, alpaca and llama fiber. Learn the basics of needle felting and the difference in fibers then move on towards creating your own Needle Felted painting! All materials are included (with plenty of leftovers for later), $45 per person. Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m. - Noon. Instructor is Bonnie Ohrt from Homespun Family.

If you missed this popular class at Heartland Fiberpalooza you can experience it this summer at Heartland Fiber Co. Learn how to create art using roving, wool, thread and ZIPPERS. Rhonda Berman is the owner and instructor of Zipply Art and she'll be here teaching you how to make beautiful flowers pins. All materials are included along with a beautiful printed guide to help you with future projects. Cost: $45 Saturday, July 23, Noon - 4:00 p.m.
