Ever need a spinning friend to guide you on purchasing and prepping fiber? This discussion is an intro to prepping fiber and the tools used to achieve that great spin. Tips, tricks and how to go from raw woo to yarn. This class is NOT a hands on class but rather an up close look on how to get started. Tips on purchasing and learning the right questions to ask a person selling fiber and tools. This class will let you ask the questions and explore the different tools out there to get you started. Demonstration on how to prep, clean and card fiber. How to make Rollags, Pun and other tips for creating. This class will encourage you to feel confident on purchasing your first fleece or encourage and motivate you to use up your stash from home. Become more appreciative of pre-made yarns. Whether you are new to felting or not - this class is for you! We will begin with the basics of needle felting and move towards creating your own needle felted painting! No drawing experience necessary - there will be samples of pictures you may choose from which include simple floral, landscape or bird & animal prints. All supplies are included. This class includes Homespun Family's Felting Starter Kit (a $30 value), the wool base, a fiber pack sampler (with various colors of alpaca, Jacob Sheep Wool and llama fibers), a 3 pack of felting needles and a foam pad. Making yarn without a spinning wheel: This is a very basic spinning class with the technique and introduction to hand spinning. This class will give you a step by step introduction on hand control. In addition to managing the fiber as you practice with a drop spindle. Park Method, drop spinning and drafting fiber will be practiced in class. Remember, practice makes.... well, closer to a preferred hand spun yarn! Saturday, April 24, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

This tatting class is a very basic beginning class- the goal is to learn the 'flip' in the double stitch in tatting. The class will introduce you to the post and bobbin shuttles, and the proper way to wind these shuttles. The goal of the class is to learn the flip. Practice during the class making a ring, chains and how to join. This is a class for the very beginner or the people who held the shuttles at one time but never mastered the flip. 'Do Over' is a term not only used in sports! Class requires patience! With this class you get two shuttles and a spool of thread. April 24, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
